Alvin Moore Named President Alabama State Laymen |
Alvin Moore of Birmingham, Alabama was named president of the Alabama State Laymen. Alabama this past week was in their state convention's annual session. Moore succeeds A. L. Folmar.
Moore is currently the national director of Junior Laymen Work. Moore gives leadership over the national basketball tournament, national bible bowl championship and junior laymen classes during the National Congress of Christian Education.
Moore is also a past national king winner and John L. Webb recipient as layman of the year.
Moore, Folmar, national vice president Richard Showers, Sr. and the men and women of Alabama are great supporters of the National Baptist Laymen work, ministries and programs. Alabama always finishes in the top three of the fundraising efforts of the National Laymen each year. This past January, Moore and the laymen of Birmingham served as hosts to the Mid-Winter Board meeting. He is supported by a great and wonderful wife and pastor.
