Good afternoon,

We here at the American Red Cross serving Eastern Missouri would like to take this opportunity to extend a big THANK YOU for helping us with our smoke alarm installation event over the weekend of March 7-8.

Because you were willing to give of your time, we were able to reach over 320 homes and install over 500 alarms!

None of this would have been possible with you, our wonderful volunteers.

· It was you who helped in the weeks leading up to the event, calling residents to confirm addresses and helping to recruit additional volunteers.

· It was you who helped put all of the materials—smoke alarms, batteries, paperwork, etc.—together before the event.

· It was you who spent several hours on either Saturday, Sunday, or both going to different homes with fire fighters to help install alarms and share lifesaving preparedness information.

· And it was you who made a wonderful impression on the residents of St. Louis whom you talked to. We have heard only amazing things about this event; a true testimony of your ability.

We have included a picture of all the homes we were able to reach over our two-day event. The green points are the homes we had identified heading in to the weekend. The yellow dots are the additional homes we were able to reach.

Again, THANK YOU for helping to make this the largest—and one of the most successful—installation canvassing events our region has held so far!

National Baptist Laymen's Movement     March 11, 2015   Notice of Importance           Dear Brother Laymen:     In reviewing the National Baptist Board Meeting Minutes provided by Mr. Michael Washington, I am sharing pertinent information with you.   Our National President, Dr. Jerry Young, placed emphasis on the word TEAM (Together Everybody Achieves More). Leaving the thought, "It won't happen if we don't make it happen...we do it as a TEAM." So, I encourage each Layman's support as we work together in our National Convention.   The National President, Dr Jerry Young has asked preachers and laymen to assist in helping the convention liquidate our debts as a convention. The National Laymen's portion of this liquidation project (Gideon Fund) must be submitted to the Convention prior to April 20, 2015. I am requesting you prayerfully consider this request. We are asking Laymen that will contribute $100.00 prior to April 20th.2015. You have been selected to be a member of this Gideon Fund drive for our convention. Please be prayerful concerning this project and submit your contribution as God has blessed you to do so.   Please send your contribution by April 11, 2015. Pastor Fate White Jr. is the father of Rev. Alfred White who serves with the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc on the Evangelism Committee.   Pastor Fate White Jr. was the  proud pastor of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Kansas City, Mo. Pastor White was a strong supporter of the National Baptist Laymen's Movement for many years.
