Atlanta, GA -- The National Baptist Laymen's Movement annual session continued on Wednesday morning, September 5, 2012 at the Georgia World Congress Center. (GWCC)

The session opened with praise and worship followed by reports from the Worship, Education and Adopt-a-School ministries.

The morning keynote speaker was Rev. E. C. Wilson, pastor of the Griggs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. He is the pastor of Asst. General Secretary Bill Campbell.

Annual Session 2012 Harold SimmonsOn Wednesday afternoon at the 2:00 p.m. hour, president Harold Simmons delivered his 12th address as National Laymen president.

Prior to his address General Secretary Thad Jones read 14 recommendations coming from Simmons goals and new ministries for the the laymen to embark on and achieve.

Special guests that came to support Simmons gave greetings. They were Dr. Robert Baynham, Immediate Past President of the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Kansas, Rev. Carrington Pinder, pastor of the St. Mark Native Baptist Church of Nassau, Bahamas, Dr. Jimmie L. Brown, president of the Missionary Baptist Convention of Missouri, Dr. George Waddles, president of the National Congress of Christian Education and James McHenry, president of the National Ushers. Dr. Elliot Cuff, dean of the National Congress introduced president Simmons.

Cheryl Batts and her team at P.H.O.E.B.E. Publishers have been on site Tuesday and Wednesday to present there book on the life of John L. Webb, the National Laymen's first president.
