There were two events this past weekend where photos were captured of presentations. The New Era District Sr./Jr. Laymen Banquet in Kansas City, MO and the Annual Session of the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland at their annual banquet.

William Wilkins, First Baptist Church, Annapolis, MD was chosen the Layman-of-the-Year for the Troy V. Lewis Laymen of the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland.
The presentation took place on Thursday, November 7th at the annual banquet during their annual session.

Dominique Campbell, Pleasant Green Baptist Church, Kansas City, MO was presented the U-Turn Award by Grant Lewis and the New Era District Junior Laymen Department.
During this past year of meetings a the Junior Laymen Transformer program held each Saturday for District Junior Laymen, Campbell demonstrated to most change in behavior at home, school, church and district activities.
The award was presented at the New Era District Sr. and Jr. Laymen banquet on November 8th.
Minister John McCain, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ, Kansas City, MO was presented the newly established Parent-of-the-Year Award by Grant Lewis and the New Era District Junior Laymen Department.
McCain did more than drop his son and other Morning Star boys off at the Transformer program on Third-Saturday's, he stayed around and helped where needed, ran errands and purchased food when there were more boys and than food at the meetings.

Paul Kengethe, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Independence, MO was presented the Thad Jones Leadership Award by Grant Lewis and the New Era District Junior Laymen Department.
The Thad Jones Leadership Award is presented to a senior or junior laymen who demonstrates leadership in the work of the New Era District Association. Kengethe is an assistant to Grant Lewis in the junior laymen Transformer program. The award was presented at the New Era District Sr. & Jr. Laymen Banquet on November 8th.
Grant Lewis, Progressive Baptist Church, Kansas City, MO was presented the newly established Eddie Davis Award by New Era Laymen president Curtis Hammons, Sr.
The award is presented to someone who renders outstanding service in the New Era District Association.
Lewis is the Director of Junior Laymen Work and has been working with the junior laymen for many years as an assistant director and now as the director.
Due to his great work and leadership with the junior laymen in the New Era District Association, Lewis was asked this past June to serve in the National Junior Laymen department by president Harold Simmons.
Eddie Davis whom the award was named after is a longtime New Era District layman who worked with the boys for many years especially those attending W.M.U. and Young People's Department workshops and Forward Climb Steps Programs.
