HOUSTON, TEXAS - Believing that the solutions to improving society are found in the fundamental relationship - THE FAMILY - The National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, an auxiliary to the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. (NBCUSA), together with the NBCUSA's Laymen's Department, will conduct its 6th Annual Married Couples Conference, February 16-19, 2011 at the J.W. Marriott, Houston, TX (Westheimer Road).

Workshops and sessions will reflect the theme: "Building Marriages on the Solid Rock" (Matthew 7:24-27) taken from our Convention Theme: "Solidarity with the Savior."  This conference is one of several family initiatives of the Congress to strengthen and affirm the family and to solidify the home by focusing on marriage.  It offers numerous opportunities to fortify the bonds between husbands and wives who are willing to invest in their marriage through spiritual development.  The conference, which approaches marriage from a Christian point of view, anticipates hundreds of couples who will participate in workshops such as:

v      Keeping Your Marriage on the Rock and Off the Rocks

v      Do's and Don'ts of a Successful Marriage

v      Divorce-Proofing Your Marriage: Reading the Signs

v      Biblical Ways to Strengthen Your Marriage

v      Equipping and Educating for Healthy, Life-Long Marriages

v      Blended Families: Through Thick and Thin - Two Made One

v      Just Starting Out (For couples from 1-day to 7-Years - Proper Preparation)

v      Intimacy: It Takes Two to Build - What God Says About Sex

v      Building a Spiritual Marriage: What Faith Means in Relationships

v      The Second Time Around: Making Re-Marriage Work

"Marriage is Biblical and must be nurtured" states Dr. George W. Waddles, Sr., President of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education.  He further states that "this conference provides an opportunity to give marriages the tools to work with to keep them working at peak capacity.   Marriage must be built on a solid foundation, and this conference will show you how."

Early registration is only $125.00 per couple through February 7, 2011.  Interested couples are invited to visit our website for additional information on hotel and registration, or you may register online at www.nationalbaptist.com.
