Prayer Walk Brochure

Nashville, TN -- During the just completed National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc. Mid-Winter Board Meeting, the National Laymen's Junior Laymen Department re-introduced the Prayer Walk Ministry.

The Prayer Walk Ministry was first introduced by Rev. Dr. Alfred White of Kansas City, Missouri who gave leadership to the street evangelism ministry. The ministry was conducted by laymen ministries all across the country that gave them another method to evangelize.

The Prayer Walk Ministry is where a group walks throughout a community, when they see a person or condition, they stop and pray for that person or condition. It became a very successful ministry.

Now under the leadership of Alvin Moore, Birmingham, AL, the director of Junior Laymen Work, is encouraging youth counselors and workers to incorporate this ministry in their junior laymen and youth programs. This will give junior laymen and youth the experience of evangelizing and praying.

Moore has developed a brochure (right) that outlines the ministry's mission, goals and objectives. He encourages all junior laymen directors and counselors to contact him to order the brochures.

Moore has also created a T-Shirt for those participating in the Walk. The brochure also outlines how to order the t-shirts.

The theme for the National Prayer Walk is, "I'm on a Mission". Matthew 28:18-20.
