| Walter Cade, Jr. Midwest 7-State Banquet Named the David Bozeman Banquet Cleveland, OH --On Saturday night during the banquet of the Walter Cade, Jr. Midwest 7-State Workshop, Michael Washington announced that the state presidents and regional coordinator along with those in attendance agreed to name the banquet the "Walter Cade, Jr. Midwest 7-State David Bozeman Banquet." It is named in the memory of David Bozeman who passed away earlier this year. Bozeman was the laymen president of the Baptist General Convention of Illinois and long time attendee, supporter and host of the Midwest 7-State Workshop. Bozeman was a loved soul of everyone that has attended one of the Walter Cade workshops over the years. Not only was he currently serving as a state laymen president at the time of his passing, but he was also was serving as the national Follow-up Chairman in the Evangelism and Outreach Ministry. Attending the workshop and banquet to witness the naming of the banquet was his widow Yolanda and his sister Oma Jean Pittman. |
Michael Washington Receives Dr. E. V. Hill Award
Cleveland, OH -- At the Walter Cade, Jr. Midwest 7-State Workshop Banquet, Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at the Holiday Inn, Michael Washington, Auburn Hills, MI, was the recipient of the Dr. E. V. Hill award. Dr. E. V. Hill was one the country's and convention's great pastor and evangelist. The award was created by the NBCUSA, Inc. Prison Ministry and Criminal Justice Commission. It is awarded to persons who show kindness, courage and valor. Presenting the award to Washington is Rev. Grady Davis, a member of the Prison and Criminal Justice Commission and regular attendee of the workshop from Wisconsin. |

Cleveland, OH -- One of the friendly competitions between state laymen president is who can bring the most paid delegates to the workshop. On this past weekend, October 25 - 27, 2013 in the city of Cleveland, OH, it was the Michigan Wolverene convention where Marvin Walker, (center) is the state laymen president. The Michigan Wolverene delegation was the recipients of the traveling trophy. |

Cleveland, OH -- The custom and tradition at every Walter Cade, Jr. Workshop is to go and evangelize. Primarily in all the workshops a street evangelistic effort. On Saturday, October 26th during the Midwest 7-State Workshop, in the rain, sleet and wind, some 175 delegates went to the streets to win souls to Christ. Giving leadership was Delester Jefferson who is the National Evangelism Chairman and member of the workshop from the state of Missouri. Midwest Workshop Youth Highlight Friday Night Cleveland, OH -- The Walter Cade, Jr. Workshops are not only about adults. The youth are included in the workshop program throughout the weekend with a special emphasis on youth on Friday night. The Walter Cade, Jr. Midwest 7-State Workshop was no different this past Friday, October 25, 2013. There were choirs, praise dance teams and mimes on program to highlight their gifts and talents. The youth groups were from the greater Cleveland area and the state of Ohio. In attendance were National Junior Laymen President Karrington Toney and First Vice President Antonio Foster, both from Missouri. Other national Junior Laymen officers that are members of this region but not in attendance are Vice President-at-Large Charles McClure, OH and Bryson Collier, IL. |
