Western Adds New Component To COPP

RE-CERTIFICATION

COPP Brochure Cover LogoWestern has now added another needed component to the just established Certificate of Progress Program.

On January 24, 2011 President Thad Jones along with COPP Dean Rev. Nathan Jones introduced a program for an accelerated path to teaching certification for persons wanting to teach in Christian Leadership Schools.

The two components were the Transcript component and the Accelerated Class component.

Now the school will be introducing the Re-Certification component.

There are many COPP teachers in Kansas and Missouri on becoming certifiable, are certified to teach classes for a five-year period. After that five year period, they must be re-certified to teach those classes.

The re-certification class "Re-thinking Christian Education" #2097 used to be only taught at the National Leadership Schools. Now Western is offering the class.

COPP teachers who need to re-certify can now reap great savings by taking the class at Western and not have to travel to a National Leadership School.

Many teachers have allowed a lapse in their re-certification because they were not able to travel to a National school to take the class.

Information and details regarding class #2097, "Re-thinking Christian Education" will becoming coming out soon.

Western will mail all instructors on the Sunday School Publishing Board teacher's list in this area a letter listing the classes that have lapsed and need for re-certification for instructors to teach them.

Now everyone can get all of their COPP needs a Western Baptist Bible College by enrolling in one of the program's components.

Western Continues to Grow
Adds Nine (9) New Students At the Semester Break

Spring Semester 2011

Western began its Spring Semester on January 24, 2011.

The last semester saw the highest enrollment in recent years after a major student enrollment drive.

The Spring semester normally doesn't see an increase in students due to the winter months and most people don't want to come in when most classes are in part II of a study.

However this Spring was different. The recruiting continued and there were persons who wanted to get their education started sooner than later.

The new students are:
George Austin
John Chism
LaVell Dew
Johnny Gilmore, Sr.
Mildred Delores Graves
Robert L. Graves
Vernon E. Graves
Gary L. Mayberry
Toi Lee

With the addition of pastor Robert Graves, United Baptist Church to the student body, there are now seven pastors enrolled at Western.
