Mid-Winter Board 2012 Update


The National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc. Mid-Winter Board held in Nashville, Tennessee came to a close on yesterday, Thursday, January 19, 2012.

The laymen began meeting on Sunday night, January 15th with a special two-day retreat with State the President's Advisory Council and continuing on Monday morning. The session officially opened on Tuesday morning and closed following the annual Special Projects fundraising breakfast at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.

The state with the most contributions to national laymen ministries was Alabama followed by Mississippi General and Kansas respectively.

The breakfast keynote speaker was Dr. Bosie Kimber, Secretary to teh Board of Directors and pastor of First Calvary Baptist Church, New haven, CT.

The other speakers for the week were:
Tuesday morning - Dr. Robert Manaway, (WA) president of the North Pacific State Convention
Tuesday afternoon - Dr. T. L. Lewis, (AL) pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church in Birmingham
Wednesday morning - Dr. Elliott Cuff, (OH) dean of the National Congress of Christian Education
Wednesday afternoon - Dr. Washington Lundy, (NY) National Vice President, Northeast Region
